D-Nation explores moments in history that have a ripple effect in today’s society, which includes a collage poster series that heavily focuses on the American timeline, a microsite of the famous and infamous political figures, and an editorial that explores the three different government systems.

Each poster collage consists of four different centuries that were considered to be important events throughout American history. The poster collage is an interactive collage with the viewers seeing the quotes, figures, and the image of the important figure.

18th Century - The American Revolution (1765 - 1783)

On July 4, 1776, the thirteen colonies declared their independence from the British Empire, sparking the American Revolution. George Washington, a freedom figure, led the colonies towards freedom. King George III, a monarchical figure, led the British army in controlling the thirteen colonies, preventing them for their independence. The thirteen colonies won the war and declared a new nation, the United States of America.

19th Century - American Civil War (1861 - 1865)

The United States, in the 19th century, was on the brink of civil war between the North and the South. Abraham Lincoln, leader of the Union, wants to end slavery in the nation. Jefferson Davis, leader of the Confederate States, wants slavery to remain intact in the South. The Union emerges victorious from being divided into two.

20th Century - Civil Rights Movement (1954 - 1968)

The Civil Rights Movement began in the 1950s when Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stands for equality for all Americans and wants freedom for all African Americans. Strom Thurmond and politicians in the South don't want equality for African Americans. The Civil Rights Act was passed on July 2, 1964, resulting in freedom for all African Americans.

21st Century - Left Versus Right (2008 - Present)

By the late 2000s and early 2010s, modern politics became radical with two groups, the left and the right. When Barack Obama became president, the alt-left believed that Obama would make progress with diversity and inclusion. However, when Trump became president, the alt-right believed that they should have traditional values and not have diversity and inclusion. In today's standards, it is an ongoing battle between the two radical groups.
